Making a significant and lasting difference for impoverished children.

Our mission is to Help Overcome Poverty Everyday (H.O.P.E.) for those who need it most – children.

To Give H.O.P.E. created the first after-school center in the area for struggling children in a small community on the outskirts of Quito-Ecuador. Here children have found a warm and welcoming staff of volunteers happy to engage them with crafts, games, sports and education, giving them an alternative to child labor, roaming the streets, joining gangs, and selling or taking drugs.

On average, 50-100 children, ages 3-17, choose this refuge over the temptations and dangers of the streets. Children who are chronically abused, malnourished and traumatized receive the love, care, comfort, healthy food, and support they need to heal emotional and physical wounds, succeed in school, and believe in their own future.

To Give H.O.P.E. has truly had a positive impact on our children. Our kids test above have higher literacy rates, are better nourished, and even experience less violence in their homes. Without our assistance, these children would be suffering and instead – with your help – they are succeeding.

A thank you we recently received from Mrs. Porozo, “I am at a loss for words to express the great love I have for you all, how could I not thank people with such a noble heart who did not see only for themselves and did not forget about us, God bless all of you who make up To Give Hope and to all of the board, God pay you back and permit us to get out of this united many blessings to all your families on behalf of the Porozo family and Gilson who loves you very much!”

Show Your Support

There are many different ways to help support our efforts. Local opportunities, sponsoring a classroom and donating are all valuable ways to make a significant impact. Your financial support will help maintain and expand our educational, psychological and medical service to impoverished children. We have no overhead costs due to our generous volunteers. We are a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization and your donation is tax deductible.

Our New Center

Having grown so dramatically, the program has expanded beyond the physical limitations of the current rented location. To Give H.O.P.E. now has a brand new facility which provides a much-needed addition to the resources already available for the children and their families. Learn more about on our project page.

Success Stories

William Segarra

William came from a poor family of 7 siblings. When he first began coming over 10 years ago to our program he was already working long hours to help support his family.

To Give H.O.P.E. (TGH) gave employment to his mother working at the program so she could be closer to her children and receive a fair wage. William found at TGH the opportunity to focus on schoolwork, and pursue his passion. He received the support he needed to win a scholarship to study culinary arts at the South American Institute.

William will graduate this year and is just a few months away from beginning his career as a chef, putting the cycle of poverty behind him.

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

Jomayra was neglected, abused and considering suicide at the age of 9. To Give H.O.P.E., supported Jomaira over the last 7 years on multiple levels by providing her many scholarships to pay for her uniforms, shoes, backpacks, school registrations, books, and eye glasses. She now focuses on her schoolwork, and found new purpose in life. She loves to help others and volunteers. She will graduate soon and would like to work as an accountant.

Please see the past letters from Jomayra that demonstrate her sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the support she has received from To Give H.O.P.E.
