Dr. Lorena Teran

Founder and Chief Helping Officer

Lorena has spend her entire life dedicated to helping others. She first started To Give H.O.P.E as a graduate student. Since then she has dedicated her professional career to helping Latino communities in California and her personal life to her adopted community in Quito.

Dr. Teran earned her doctorate in Preventive Medicine and MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from University of Southern California. Before dedicating herself to coaching women on how to overcome chronic health issues & improve their relationships, she was director of the Orange County Alliance for Community Health Research and was co-director of the Community Engagement Unit of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of California, Irvine.

Cristina Egüez

Director of Operations, Ecuador

Cristina has volunteered with To Give H.O.P.E. since 2010. She manages the day-to-day operations of the children’s center and is responsible for all staffing, volunteers, finances, facility management and repairs, accounting, taxes, purchase and delivery of food and toiletries for the children, and field trips. She is the one who makes sure that the dollars we raise translate into real value for these children every day. Cristina is the heart of our daily efforts to provide a higher standard of living and hope for these children’s future.

Eric Teran

Board Member, USA

As founding principal of Eustilus Architecture + Development, Eric has been practicing commercial and residential architecture on three continents since 2001. He believes that architecture needs to make a stand and be socially responsible to the environment and the community. Eric has lent his support at To Give H.O.P.E. by guiding the team through the design process of the new learning center, multiple fundraisers, and marketing. In addition, he supports various charities such as Doctors without Borders, Open Architecture Collaborative, and Autism.
